    Fonts for Arabic and Transliteration

    • Cardo. A large Unicode font specifically designed for the needs of classicists, Biblical scholars, medievalists, and linguists. No major update since 2004.
    • Gentium. Transliteration font for Macintosh (also for Classic Mac, Windows and Linux).
    • Junicode. A font for medievalists, currently containing 5870 characters in the regular style.
    • LinuxLibertine. Best Unicode font, contains transliteration glyphs, Greek, Arabic, and Hebrew and is apt for long texts. More information here. This font is highly recommended! [Link]
    • Persian Font. Arabic-Persian Font for Macintosh [Link]
    • TITUS Cyberbit Basic. Very big Font, for Macintosh and Windows
    • XW Zar: TrueType-Font for Arabic (incl. Persian, Urdu, Dari, Pashto, Usbek, Kurdish, Turkish). OS must be AAT savvy (therefore incompatible with Windows).
