The title is “An Essay on Criticism” and is actually a poem, not an essay. It was written by Jonathan Swift, and I came across it by chance.

I quote four verses:

Fool’s Apostrophy

One of Germany’s quality problems is the “fool’s apostrophe,” which is a thorn in the side of many, but now supposed to be correct in certain contexts. So far, so boring.
